Lima is one of the most interesting and challenging cities in South America with a great archaeological, historical, and cultural past. Most of its treasures may be well hidden, but they are worth discovering. Today we take you to tour this city, which we are sure you will love. The adventure has just begun!

Cusco is located in the Huatanay River valley. To the east is the Vilcanota mountain range, whose highest peak is Salkantay, and to the west is the Vilcabamba mountain range, whose highest peak is Ausangate, and also the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which is full not only of archaeological remains of the lost civilization but also of traditional Quechua communities that preserve pre-Columbian cultural practices. Get ready to immerse yourself in the Inca world!

Today is the day you’ve been waiting for! Get ready to explore the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. (The Lost City) Take the scenic train through the Sacred Valley and ascend to the Inca ruins by bus. Once there, marvel at the impressive architecture, agricultural terraces, and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Feel the mystical energy of this sacred place and let yourself be transported back in time to the Inca era! Today our transfer from the hotel will be at 05:30 heading to the Poroy train station (1st train ride at 06:00 a.m.). The train ride consists of a spectacular view of this wonderful land of the Incas, incredible landscapes of mountains and valleys, Inca terraces of Ollantaytambo on both sides of the valleys, snowy mountains, and subtropical jungle near the Eyebrow of the Jungle. See the snow-capped Veronica mountain on the right side. From Pachar, the Vilcanota River will be our companion until we reach Aguas Calientes (2040m) known as Machu Picchu. Our local guide will meet us at the train station and transfer us to the bus terminal and then 25 minutes by bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu. (Bring your passport of origin) A guided tour of Machupicchu “The Ancient Sacred Mountain” lasts approximately 2 hours and then you have some free time for photos. It is recommended to use the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes at least one hour before the train departure. Return by train to Ollantaytambo with transportation from here to Cusco.

The adventure to the Humantay lagoon starts early. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountains, Andean animals, and crop fields. We drive in a minivan for 2 hours to the town of Mollepata, where we will stop for breakfast. Then continue to the community of Soraypampa for about 45 minutes. Upon arrival, begin the 2-hour hike until you reach the Humantay lagoon. A professional guide will inform you about the history of the lagoon and how important this place was for the Incas. Take photos and walk around before returning to the community of Soraypampa and take the minivan back to Mollepata. Enjoy lunch there before returning to Cusco. The estimated arrival in Cusco is at 5:30 pm.

After an unforgettable adventure in the Andes, it’s time to return to Lima. Take this time to explore the city further, visit its museums, enjoy its delicious cuisine, or simply relax in one of its parks. Lima has so much to offer!
